Okay, back to the tires as we are forecast to get snow this weekend.

I've decided that I really don't want/need to buy a new set of 17' wheels just for the winter. I can just use the same rims.

I see that Pirelli makes the Snow Sport 240 in 18' sizes. Anyone know what size tires I need to go with Front versus Rear? Should they be the same or are the rims an inch wider in the rear (I think) can I not do that? Below are the sizes prices from Tire Rack. Any ideas from you guys? These suckers are very expensive. Anyone hear about how the work? worth it??

Pirelli Winter 210 SnowSport -- 240 is better?

235/40VR18 $247

235/50VR18 $298

245/45HR18 $250

255/45VR18 $317

265/35VR18 $290

Oh, and any cheaper alternatives?

Thanks!
nic-c31-064.mw.mediaone.net

Re: 18

I'd go with 17' rims and Blizzak LM22's. The tires are cheaper and will offset the cost of the rims. 18's in the snow are a real handful at that width. I don't think you'd be happy with them especially if you live anywhere near me.....Minnesnowta.
host5.wabash-mgmt.com

Re: 18

Okay, thanks. I've give it some thought. Only an inch of snow forecast tonight so I should be okay for awhile.
nic-c31-064.mw.mediaone.net
