Does anyone have a simple work-around for replacing the auxiliary battery/capacitor in a 2017 GLE350? It's located under the left rear seat, and the limited information I can find for its removal/replacement involves complete removal of the rear seatback. That seems to be a rather laborious and time consuming process to access what should be an easily replaced part.

I can't offer a work-around but I can say that it's not hard to do - I did it on my 16 GLE a month or so ago. It took about 1-1/2 hours but will take much less time next time I do it. There are a couple of procedures, attached, that should help you. If you have the heated rear seats, you'll need to disconnect the wires. Before you do, be sure you note where the harness clips attach to the frames.
