Fellows,

Quick question: has anybody fitted the 16" alloy wheel from the first R129s on a 1986-1989 R107 (500 or 560SL) or an earlier R107?

I am speaking about the 16" alloy wheel which is identical in appearance to the 15" alloy wheel that is standard on the 560SL.

Any advice is welcome.

Regards,

Have too high if an offset to fit on the front. I tried them with 5mm spacers to get an effective et29, and that allowed them to bolt on, but the inner wheel weights would still do damage and get ripped off.

In short, most r129 wheels are not a good fit.

The only r129 wheels (i know of) that are a good fit are the 17" aero1 oz 3-piece in an offset of about 17-18. I am sure there are probably others, but can't think of them right now.

I think folks get the 7.5" eight hole wheels from the r129 on the 107 much easier. I think Asa makes them aftermarket too though, which makes it hard to really know how well those fit.
