as i moving to chicago in the next month, my pops wants me to take the w140 istead of the 126 that ihave been driving for the last 2 years, and as some poeple here know having been having a lovely time working on. LOL
i prefer the 126 tho the 140 is quicker , newer, and prob has more safety features , better for snow driving i guess. the 126 doesnt really have any safety features. milage is 151K vs 120K with the 126 haveing more. dunno what to do

reliability is the key tho. the 126 has been good since i brought it back to life 2 yrs ago, but i dont know any good merc mechanics in chicago area yet.

the 140 has had its share of problems too, but nothing too major, its lost some of its flair but its still nice.

with the 126, i have 151K on it now, before i leave for chicago, i want to take it in for a good service, what kinda things should i have looked at.
im gonna have them do oil change ofcourse, is there a specific weight of oil i should use for chicago climate
i need to have them fix my middle vents that arent giving out any air. and i guess check the fuel sender lines to see why the fuel gauge needle turns on at over 1/4

Mine has over 220,000 miles and it’s run great and reliable – sorry, but to me your 500 is just a kid. The mileage of your car is not necessarily an indicator of reliability.

Personally I'd take the 126. One of the best indy MB mechanics is in suburban Chicago, so don't worry about taking either car. Excellent in every way, including price.

no doubt, take the 140. don't waste the 126 by parking it around chicago. let the w140 take the crap and rust out in the snow.

Tinley Park is at the end of the earth. The mechanic is 5 minutes from O'hare airport. About an hour from Tinley Park.

lol, if you ask the people here in the 126 forum, most of em will say take the 126. If you ask the people in the 140 forum, most of them will way take the 140. It all comes down to which car is worth more to you? I wouldn't take the one that's worth more because that's the one that may get damaged somehow...
