123 high beam fuse - 8 amps ??

IF you check out my car on my introductory post,you'll see it has the Euro headlights. I replaced the "Blue Heat" fake HID-looking bulbs that were in it when I got it with PIAA Hyper Whites - much whiter, not a poor attempt at HID looks as the others are. Two days later I hit the high beams and the right was out. I assumed the bulb was bad but I checked the fuses first. It was blown but I think it was blown before as I had the high beams on last night for about 5-10 minutes straight. I decided to change all the fuses as some looked quite old and I realized the high beam fuse is only an 8 amp. Has anyone upgraded,using a higher amp fuse with any success ?? TIA...
