Does the coolant have any other function then to cool the engine? I'm not sure how complex the ML is.

This is definetly very helpful. My coolant was near empty and the light came on. Drove on it for a couple of days and finally filled the coolant to cold level. No more light and the ML seems more responsive. It must of affected the tranny fluid. Thanks for everyones your help
