Good day! I'm looking at buying a '74 and noticed that the chassis plate reads [107044 12 XXXXX 7] and the door plate reads [107 044 12 YYYYYY].

1) I thought these serial numbers were supposed the be the same - are they?
2) Why is the chassis plate only 5 numbers, followed by a space and the number 7? This is consistent with pictures I've found online.
3) Which one should you trust??

Another note... the paint code on the chassis plate is listed as 050G. The EGv107 doesn't list this, but other sources online show that it was only an option until 1971.

Thoughts???

Nevermind... answered my own questions. Updates below for future searches:

The chassis code is not intended to match the VIN - while similar, these are different indications.
Also, the G in 050G just means the car is white and "Glasurit"
