Just turning 112,000 and it still feels like a youngster. My MB mechanic says that all the M103 motors need to have the head rebuilt at 150,000. Do any of you have an untouched head with more miles and what do you contribute the success to?

150 only if the car has lived a hard, hard life...otherwise 200K is usually do-able. You can buy yourself some time w/ valve stem seals but that's simply a band aid to the larger problem of worn valve guides.

Yeah, winter came 2 weeks ago and the pic was taken at 8am.

Average temp down here at the moment is 7DegC/44DegF to 21DegC/69DegF with rain and our drought appearing to be breaking.
