so, we are looking into getting a new car, i really like the looks of the present e class as opposed to the "edgy" style of the '10 .
went to the dealer and got this offer :
trade in '02 ml 320 with 68 k miles = $8000
new '09 e 350, sport package and P1 , provided i finance with them @1,9% = $50,500 and $ 2901 for a 66 months loan that i can pay off in full if i want to after 6 months.
what do the experts think about this?
any advice appreciated, java

Buy a used 07 or 08, or don't buy one. It makes zero sense to purchase a new 09 when the new body style will hit showrooms in just 2-3 months. The 09's depreciation will closely resemble a rock falling off a cliff.

x2 on that! I'm no expert, but I would much rather buy a year or two older car that has already taken the depreciation hit.

I agree with the others, I personally couldn't justify paying more than $35K for a "new" vehicle that is getting replaced with a new version or model in a few months. Look for a well kept 2-3 year old one and get more options & equip for less. I know I've even seen used '05 E55 AMG's, or even a E500? around at your price point, why stop at a E350?
