I am a first time MBZ owner. While I love my car I do not have the back ground experience to know what works well on an S class in terms of replacement tires. I bought the car used with a mix match of tires and would like to replace them with a quality tire that offers a smooth, quiet ride. I was hoping to obtain feedback from those who are experienced S class owners.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm sure the guys in the W221 forum will have as many ideas about the "right" tire as there are people in the forum. That's also the place for any other questions you may have about your new ride, since this general forum isn't likely to have a lot of W221 owners looking in.
I am a supporter of Michelin MXV tires on big luxury cars. They are a great compromise (in my experience) between wear, noise, and stick. I have a set on my W220 ('04 S430), and I will put a set on my Lexus LS430 as soon as the OEM Dunlop tires are done. I've had them on my W124, on a Lexus GS300, and a SAAB 9000 turbo. They are moderately priced, are very quiet, and stick as well as they need to for the type of driving you are likely to do in a W221.
The guys in the W221 forum will have lots of other recommendations, but I think you'll find a lot of support for the Michelins too. Changing to a single brand on all four corners will help no matter what you buy. Enjoy your new ride.
