Been down this road with a BMW and it was the whole (what BMW calls IHKA unit) that needed to be replaced. Pretty easy. Thinking it's the same on the ML but wanted to check.
Bought the car in Nov and it's been mostly cold or warm enough to have the fan off while driving but the last few days have seen temps in the 60s (F) so I wanted to cool air. Problem is when I turn the dial to a low setting (60/62F) the air temp from the vents is super hot; same temp as 80F. Not sue if the compressor is kicking on when the temp is set low (still figuring out the auto climate on this car) but regardless of the desired temperature, the air from the vents is max heat.
Last night I meant to pull the fuse/a fuse while the system was running to see if a reset would help but washed the car then didn't want to open the hood and now it's 40F outside so I am welcoming warm air.
I have a little bit of time but wanted to see if I could figure this out or if I just have to replace that whole climate control unit.
