hello all, i'm thinking about trading in my 05 Cadillac STS for a 05/06 CLK55 the end of the year. what are your impressions of this car?? it seems to be an awesome car and it looks great. the exterior color of my caddy is red line which is like a burgandy red with metallic and i would want the same for the clk55, which is closer to a deep red metallic color, firemist red or mars red?? the new 2006 cls55 looks sharp too but the price has not been released yet but from what i understand it will probably run around $90k.. anyway give me your opinions

Congrats. in advance for choosing a Benz....and welcome to the forum. CLK range is MBs bestseller with least depreciation. Take into account the luxury, elegance & specs....you can hardly loose. Pick up a Designo brochure from your MB dealer. It has a CLK featured in Designio burgundy with custom trims. Perhaps one of the most exotic combos I have seen on a CLK to date. Most of us opt for the safer blacks & silver. Do try & get every possible option that you can afford...to get a real feel of what MB luxury means.

Best of luck!

is designo burgundy a new color for 2005?? I don't see that color on mbusa.com when building a clk. I will go get a brochure from my local dealer, I would like to see that color...

I used to have an STS. Nice, fast, but heavy and mushy. My 05 CLK 55 is an entirely different ride. The CLK is much smaller and more performance oriented. The suspension actually feels a little harsh compared to the STS, and the back seat is a joke. Still it's a superior car in every respect if you don't have more than two people in it. Huge power. I can't figure out whether the seats will adjust automatically for different drivers using different keys, a feature I miss from the STS.

Check in your Convenience menu whether you have the "Key Dependant" feature/ option. Switch it to ON...and use the three memory settings and two keys for individual seats setup.
