guys i need your help
i have a ml500, its trip computer doesnt work at all. and also when ever i lock i dont see those lights flashing. i checked all the fuses (not relays) to make sure they are ok. they all gettting the power by.
any other suggestions will be appreciated. i get no number no glow nothing.

Make sure the trunk is CLOSED and the lock isnt jammed, Try the key. If it still doesnt work replace key batteries and resync the key.
AFTER NEW BATTERIES ARE IN, get in the car turn the key to position 2, remove the key hold lock while pushing unlock 5 times, Release buttons and try to lock the car. If that doesnt work its either the key is no good or its the aam.

thanks for your reply/. actually unlock and trunk release buttons work fine. some says it wouldnt activate alarm if trip computer doesnt work. actually trip computer is still dead even after checking the fuses. any other suggestions about trip computer. and also are those trip computer same from 98-05? thanks

Trip computers earlier than 2002 did not have compass feature. Replace with one of the latest revised trip computers; 163 540 8211/5211/6411.

as i said my trip computer went totally blank. IF I TAKE IT OUT or open the console. how do i find out if the computer has burnt out or if the problem is somewhere else?

I just went through the same exact problem (lights failed to blink 3 times when locking the truck) but the alarm worked. Trip computer was stucked showing 15L/100Km. Replaced it with an older one from a 1998 and now it works and the 3 lights flash upon locking the vehicle. When I have time and cash, I will replace it again with a newer unit.

For your truck, with key out of ignition, remove fuse #13 for 30 secs. and then reinsert. See if that helps.

chung, please update your profile in USER CP to include the year and model of your truck.

If you have a 98-2001, with the key out of the ignition, remove fuses #10 & 13 for 30 secs. and reinsert.

If you have a 2002 and up remove fuse #13 and reinsert.

Please update your profile.

Click on USER CP.
Click on EDIT PROFILE.
Scroll down to ADDITIONAL INFO. And fill in the year and model of your truck and where you live.

Your problem is caused by a faulty tow sensor in the trip computer which is stored in the overhead console. The tech bulletin does not apply to your vehicle's vin number, but does show where the problem lies.

Not that I am aware of. The front and rear signal lights will flash when the remote is used.

just curious 43. do any MY's have an audibile lock/unlock beep-beep sound? not that I've ever seen. More of a Lexus/Toyota feature? Domestics seem to use the car horn & lower 'toot-toot' volume.
