Hi,

Picked-up a new C320 last Thursday, after trading-in my '97 E320 (see my last message in the W210 forum).

Anyway, I kept the Alpine CHM-S620 changer from that car, intending to install it in the C320. Is this something I can do myself with the right cable/adapter? Can this be mounted in the glovebox or the trunk?

I saw someone mention that they had their MB dealer install their changer for them - should I go that route or have my friendly neighborhood car stereo shop do the work?

The changer for the W203 is unique and the cd changer from other models theoretically wo...

The changer for the W203 is unique and the cd changer from other models theoretically won't fit in the glove box so you may have to find another location for it. Is the CD changer you have fiber optic DB2? If not it won't work.

Worst case, sell it on e-bay and use e-bay or autoclass.net to get the correct one. New they are about $400.

I would have to agree that your old cdplayer will not work do to the fact that MB decided ...

I would have to agree that your old cdplayer will not work do to the fact that MB decided to switch everything to optical. But if you want to stay with factory don't have it installed at the dealer because they will give you an outrageous price. I called a few different places and they said $400 for install.
