I have a 2002 C230 Kompressor with about 43,000 miles on it. Overall its a great car but I am currently having a problem with the battery draining down. It only takes approx 4-6 hours for it to go from 12.6 volts down to about 3.5 volts. The car has a brand new battery so I know its not that. Anyone have a similar problem before or any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

John

Then it must be alternator, is your charge light on. OR it can also be some kind of ground problem. If you take it autozone they can check the alternator.

I think that most likely that it is your grounding wires, check it and see :

1) if terminal and or wires were rusted, you can use sandpaper to clean up on all contact points;
2) check if the gounding wires are probably & tightly screwed onto the battery neg terminal;
3) check the ground wire connected to the body of the car, make sure the connection is tight.

after you are finished, grease all contact points !
