Symptoms...
Pulled into a parking spot..tried to start an hr later, wouldnt. Waited another hour and it started.

Pulled P0444 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open(this the valve that ticks on driver side by window washer fluid? if so where to get one?..)

And a P0335(Pending) Crank Position Sensor(autohausaz)

No Malfunctions come up on the dash.

Replacing both these myself is not a problem. Although I have no idea where to buy the first Control Valve.. Should I bite the bullet and buy both, or is there something I should check first? Worst off I'm out another $100 :surrender:

This car has been on jackstands or a flatbed since a baught it...:rotfl: so time is really not a worry to me...

Anyways...thanks in advance.

I also have a leaking gasket(uses Black RTV Gasket Sealant) its on pass side back top of valve cover? I believe this is the breather?(sorry I work on SBCs ;) but I'm trying to learn this engine as fast as possible ) Anyone have a rundown of how this gets replaced? I just cleaned up 2 rags full of oil sludge on the valve cover and down the block.
This here? Does this get torqued or anything? Or just hand tightened?

Thanks again.

I would replace the cps first. I have never heard of that other part going bad, not that it isn't shot, but, try the cps first as it is usually always the culprit when the car dies and then restarts after it has cooled down.

Hey, Reckoner, welcome aboard. Please take a minute to click the User CP link and complete your BW profile for vehicle and location as that is often useful information.

I agree, order the CPS and change it. While you are waiting for it to arrive, remove the purge valve (it's the thing with MOT on it), sounds like you found it okay and then blast it inside thoroughly with carb cleaner (Berryman B-12 is fine). Shake it out and let it dry. Inspect the lines going to it closely for cracks and leaks.

It's pretty rare for the purge valve to fail, that's how I would proceed, particularly since it's pretty expensive for what it is ($80 online discount pricing).

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg
