Any know the spring rate and diameter and length of the rear ML320 springs, would like to get some custom replacements made but these specs do not seem available online or from the dealer, and I would rather not remove the existing ones until I source replacements.

I have 2 cracked springs and do not want to go lower on my ride height.

any help would be much appreciated.

You won't find any replacement springs of the same height unless they come from other stock W163. Our ML is obsolete vehicle and nothing new is or will be manufactured for it. Ever. Especially stock height springs. Try scrap yard for used shock assembly.

I am looking for the spring rate and length as there is a local fabrication shop that can and will custom cut and bend for this application
Right. Did you consider replacing shocks? By the end of the day they have to be replaced sooner or later.

On the side note I can only suggest bying H&R springs (which are shorter of course) and re-using your existing shocks (provided they are still in good shape). This setup will lower your ML only slightly (about 1 inch which, as I read few times here on the forum, is still in the range "allowed" by MB).

I am resurrecting this thread from the dead, as I also am looking for the answer to the OP's question: What is the spring rate of the factory rear springs?

I am looking to replace my rear springs as well, but with universal 2.5" id coilover springs, but I want a similar spring rate, and not something way too stiff.

I did some cursory searching, but I have found nothing.

Once I take the rear struts apart on my ML, I will attempt to measure spring rate, by stacking known weight on the spring and measuring deflection. Or if I can get my hands on a load cell, I will use my 20 ton press.

Closest info to what I have on file:
