Made a $1000.00 deposit and waited 16 months to get it. At every gas fill-up and parking lot, someone wanted to see the roof go up and down.
I took delivery of my SLK in late February of 1999, took my dad for a ride; yes that's snow in the background and I have the top down!!!
My wife got her new Lincoln Navigator and still had her Ford Expedition; I don't think the side airbags would save me in this photo, boy did the SUV's look big!!!
It didn't always go up or down when I wanted it to, my dealer was replacing switches every couple of months, but it was a fun ride.
