Originally sold in Germany as a domestic car, it was imported in the late 1960s to the US where it served its owner at the German consulate in San Francisco. In the early 1970s it was purchased by a lady and her husband who lived in Palo Alto, and was there until they retired to Tucson, AZ in the mid 1980s. I purchased it from them in November of 2018.
