  1. Mercedes 06' W209 Threaded Serpentine Belt

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Your car might be a little different but it should be the same concept. The middle pulley on my car is metal. "3" in the picture.
  2. 2005 CLK320 is making a "whining noise" Possibly Alternator?

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
My Serpentine Belt felt apart and tangled up in the pulleys while driving. The top pulley bearing got hot and stopped turning properly with the belt and the belt fell apart. Is your air injection pump stuck in the on position? This information could help. For a W209. Check the air system.
  3. Mercedes 06' W209 Threaded Serpentine Belt

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Do you have a Mercedes Dealership in the area? I ended up going to the Dealership parts counter and getting the OEM parts. The belt was only $10 dollars more. The pulley was $60. More than an after market one but it had the new lock bolt and proper washers and ready to bolt on. The...
  4. 2005 CLK320 is making a "whining noise" Possibly Alternator?

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Hello. Check the top pulley. Please refer to the recent thread post about the W209 threading a belt. This might be your problem. Saw your videos. I would change the top plastic pulley. Are you sure the noise is not your air injection pump turning on?
  5. Mercedes 06' W209 Threaded Serpentine Belt

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
This time installed the OEM factory belt and new OEM Factory pulley. If you have over 100,000 miles, at least change out the upper pulley. This pulley takes most abuse. The factory MB belt fits 100% better. The new pulley wheel turning very well. The W209s are getting up there...
  6. Mercedes 06' W209 Threaded Serpentine Belt

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
I have a high mileage 06' CLK350 and the vehicle threaded a belt. There was minimal damaged. Suspect the top pulley bearing began to seize. The pulley was removed and the threads were cleaned out with an 8 mm X 1.25 thread pitch Tap. Does the new self locking bolt for the pulley...

  9. 2006 350 CLK needs new rear shocks

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Hello. My 2006 W209 rear shocks lost their damping. Looked into Bilstein shocks (Rated 10% stiffer than stock) but was not sure about the compatibility to the car. My concern is these shocks would be too stiff. Does anyone have any experience with these shocks?
  10. Weird Stuck in Gear Problem?

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Mine got progressively worse until a weekend day trip was cancelled on the way to the destination. Took the car to the shop and replaced the module inside the transmission. The part was around $500 and had to be Mercedes Benz programmed to the car. The bill was around $1700.
  11. 2004 CLK 320 Transmission

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
My 2006 CLK350 is in the shop with the speed sensor being replaced. I had the same symptoms until the light came on and PO717 code. Your car needs to go to the shop and get updated sensor.
  12. Weird Stuck in Gear Problem?

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
My W209 does the same thing once and a while. Would turn the car off and restart and the electronics would reset and transmission would shift normal.
  13. 350 CLK 350 Driver's Door Handle Pulled Out (Image)

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Completed the repair. Appeared the handle popped out the groove. I removed the lock cylinder and immediately reinstalled and everything realigned. The handle could be a little flimsy from wear. The handle popped out on a 100 F degree afternoon while the car was parked in the sun...

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
I was opening the Driver's side door and it pulled out. The door still works but does not return to the original position. What part of the mechanism failed?
  16. Can Low Battery Throw PO300 code? (misfire)

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Looks like the problem was solved. Servicing the Battery restored the performance of battery even though it is nearing the service life end. The plugs were changed and it made a huge difference in the MPG. These plugs were pushed past their limit.
  17. Can Low Battery Throw PO300 code? (misfire)

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Rudeney, Going to attempt some of the "old school diagnostic" by checking the cylinder with the darkest plug. Is there an ohm test to check the individual ignition coil packs? I have access to the proprietary test equipment you brought up but my Dad has the equipment in another city.
  18. Can Low Battery Throw PO300 code? (misfire)

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
The 2006 CLK350 did not start very well this morning so I shut it down and restarted again and it would not. The car threw a PO300 code. Suspecting a bad battery......is there any other things to check? Well, I checked the battery and added water. Put a slow charge on it for about an...
  19. Tread life for tires on CLK 550

    C209/A209 CLK-Class
Just bought Generals 245 40 17's for the rear on my CLK350. The last General set I just replaced lasted 40k plus miles. They were very reasonably priced and performed well.
