    Non-replaceables came in on the 24v M104s to accommodate bigger brake discs. My 1991 has them. Expensive too at 500+ € each for the complete control arms. RayH

    I fear that the EZL might be the culprit. I had exactly those symptoms and we change the MAS box then the coil. Nothing. The the EZL and all's well. I've seen that the EZL from MB is now around 1200 € so not as agonising as before. But not a give-away either! RayH

    Yours is a CIS-e version. And you have an OVP, to the bottom left of the MAS box which is the box with the release wheel on top at the top, right of centre of your photo. Hope that helps. RayH

    On mine, it's 3500 rpm. Holds low gear until I hit 3500 and normal thereafter. As said, it's to heat the cat. Always been like that both before and after gearbox rebuild. It's a feature. RayH
