  1. G400 CDI possible battery drain?

    G-Class
Thanks for the good wishes! Yes everything is ok, I just was very busy with family and luckily I had no weird issues with my G (apart from some rust at the door handles that drives me maad)
  2. G400 CDI possible battery drain?

    G-Class
Are you sure it's coming from that? I know 2 G400 with battery drain and both had same issue: TV module in rear left near cd changer. Somehow it remains powered and would not enter standby. My understanding is there's a wiring issue somewhere along the lines and the easiest solution is to unplug...

You could try to mess around with the wires in the door after u remove the panel. They tend to get "corroded" ... I once had a problem with my speaker and it turned out the only coulprit was the mating surface in the connector which needed heavy scratching (otherwise looking pretty good at eye...
  4. G400 goes into EPC-error below 1/2 fuel tank

    G-Class
It might also be a tired or deffective low pressure fuel pump (or fuse?): tank full -> more gravity to push fuel towards high pressure pump.
  5. Om617a overheating: Uphill/Highway HELP

    G-Class
I don't know any specifics on that car but given u replaced those parts u might have a coolant flow restriction in one of the pipes, a bad or misplaced fan shroud (to make sure air passes through the radiator) or even too much coolant/ water ratio.
  6. G400CDI EGR cancellation

    G-Class
What I did is unplugged both of them almost to the limit of the socket edges and covered them in tape with 2 cable ties on top of the tape (to prevent tape unsticking). It's not very 'profi' but works for me. Cable ties cannot be seen in the picture as the air filter hides them. It's one cable...
  7. G400CDI EGR cancellation

    G-Class
Old thread, I know, but the solution is incredibly easy... just unplug the EGR: no limp mode, no dash errors, no nothing, and no more EGR! the only errors are stored in CDI but they DO NOT affect anything else! I did this to mine 2 months ago and everything works flawlessly. Just take care to...

And how could I get past that? I suppose it would be much simple to disable them in star developer settings ? But it's all in german...

The torque converter might just slip due to worn out lockup clutch and thats why you only sense the engine reving but no wheel spin. After 2011 merc finally upgraded the original torq converter and valve body design which have had a factory design flaw with some oily backpressure building up...
  11. G400CDI EGR cancellation

    G-Class
HI all, I recently tried to cancel EGR function by means of blocking the pipe just before reaching the intake after the intercooler, just like I did successfully to many other diesel cars. The thing is that in this case the ecu would not let me use the turbos with that blockage in place. One...
  12. G400 2002 CDI - Rear Engine Oil Seal replacement

    G-Class
I did that last year on mine... well actually the stealer did it because it broke down near them. I had that same leak 5 year and some 70k km before the incident. Beware that in my case, while driving with 190km/h for 30 minutes the rear engine seal blew off and left me throwing oil in the back...

The catalog price for both pn (463, 220) are almost the same, I checked.
  14. Steering Clunk

    G-Class
I had the same issue a few years ago and re-torqueing the steering box while steered to the left did the trick for about six months or so and then re-appeared. Only this time re-torqueing again did not help. I haven't got the time to investigate this on my own so I'm curious if you tracked the...
  15. G500 - Starting Issues after NEW CPS & Camshaft Senors

    G-Class
You are probably loosing pressure in the fuel lines and apparently mostly when they are warm. Perhaps something to do with the return line and some valves? You can also remove the wire from a spark plug , keep it a few mm above some metal grounded surface and have someone start the car. If...
