MY13 GLK350 4matic eco diagnostics

I'm looking to see what the group knows about diagnostics for eco mode. I searched around and didn't find anything really so it's time to ask.

Vehicle had an intermittent aux battery warning so a suitable battery was installed. Eco cluster indicator still yellow.

Replaced switching relay. Eco cluster indicator still yellow.

So now what?

While I sympathize with the system being a pain in grueling stop and go traffic, it helps take the edge off fuel consumption in my traffic environment and so she who must be obeyed shall be obeyed.

These, in the day when heaven was falling, The hour when earth's foundations fled, Followed their mercenary calling, And took their wages, and are dead.

Their shoulders held the sky suspended; They stood, and earth's foundations stay; What God abandoned, these defended, And saved the sum of things for pay.

So to follow up, I put the replacement battery on a stand alone charge for a while and then went for a long high speed highway drive followed by some actual city driving.

Somewhere between home and the midtown tunnel the system found readiness by one means or another and worked fine.

I did come across a document from MB that lays out the general operational brackets for the system.

Operation of the ECO Start /Stop
The following conditions must be met for the ECO Start /Stop to get a green status
and turn off the engine when coming to a stop
• Vehicle speed is 0 MPH
• Coolant temperature greater than 60°C, less than 115°C.
• Transmission oil temperature greater than 10°C, less than 120°C.
• Engine RPM in specified value range
• Gear range “Drive” or “Neutral”
• Accelerator not operated
• Service brake actuated up to standstill of the vehicle
• Adequate vacuum in the brake booster
• No control intervention functions from brake assist, level and distance regulation system
• Hood closed
• No crash signal
• Steering wheel angular velocity in the specified value range
• Condition of the on-board electrical system OK.
• Driver door closed
• Driver seat belt buckled
• Interior temperature regulated
• If the driver seat belt is unbuckled when engine is off in start/stop mode, the engine will restart and the
status will change to yellow
• If the driver door is opened when engine is off in start/stop mode, the engine will restart, shift to park
and the status will change to yellow
