what is the best engine code reader ?

Hello all ,

new member here . I was just wondering what is the best engine code reader for Mercedes .

I would be using it on my 2015 GLK and my brother-in-law's 2012 C250 . I would like to access the most features possible

without having to buy a professional "mechanic" reader .

We would like to diagnose the most possible ... My dad's 2010 E350 was missing some Freon once and a reputable general

mechanic could not access the computer to top off the Freon . He said it was the first time it happened to him ... I eventually

found a specialized Mercedes mechanic who got the job done by changing a relay and adding the Freon . I would like to avoid

visiting the specialized mechanics for things that I can do myself .Thank-you in advance

I would go with a Xentry SDS if you own a laptop you can get Chinese clone for about $300.
Will work back to 2002 if you want to do all vehicles you have to spend about $600.
