my 2015 gl350 won't start with gooey oil

Driving down the road at about 70 mph the car just lost power and the throttle stop responding. Pulled over to the shoulder and shut the car off and that was it, it no longer starts up. The car didn't over heat and doesn't have white oil, although when I opened the oil cap there was a bunch of gooey oil build up on the cap and on the dip stick. When i try to start the car, the starter doesn't budge. I don't know what the issue might be, any information would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Need History As To Gooey Oil

Do you know your malfunction codes?

The GL diesel has an OM642 motor which is an aluminum block motor. You must be absolutely sure the oil you are putting into the motor is exactly the type called for by the manufacturer. The same goes for the oil filter.

I own a bluetec (Euro-5 pollution control system) which requires a phosphate-free motor oil for the bluetec exhaust system. Your car may not have the bluetec system, but may require an equally specialized oil.

You must also frequently replace the air filters, the fuel filter and the fan belt. Though these may not make gooey oil, these will make the motor struggle and deposit more soot into its oil.

I hope this helps.
