Need some confirmation of differential and transfer case fluids

Before I order the fluids, I just want to get confirmation especially since the Mercedes 85W90 is expensive

To do the front and rear differentials, I will need Mercedes hypoid gear oil 85W90. From searching, I cannot find an alternative other than one other benzworlder who said he has used Mobil 1.

If there is an update on an alternative gear oil, please let me know. It looks like autohaus az has a liter for $37. I have to do this service on all the diffs on two Mercedes so it there is a cheaper source, please share.

For the transfer case, Noodles mentioned that Shell AFT 134 can be used. I just wanted to make sure this is still going to work. His post was from 5 years back

Thanks

Mike

For the transfer case it will be the same fluid thatís in your transmission. If you have the blue fluid the ATF 134FE can be used. The rear diff will use 75W85. The front will use 85W90. Liqui moly is at the appropriate approval levels and is pretty affordable.

Thanks James. I should have mentioned the GL450 is a 2007. I see your's is a 2012. I am assuming the fluids are the same for both model years.

Yes for the differentials. For the transfer case you will use the ATF 4134 red fluid MB 236.14.
