Drivers side mirror

Looking for info. I hit the mirror on a gate awhile back and it continued to work for awhile. Now it will only pull the mirror in when I lock the doors or press the button. I have to manually push the mirror out while the other mirror is going out. Are the gears that control the folding, inside the motor? And will replacing the motor fix the issue? Or will I have to replace the entire mirror? Thanks for any info

There are two motors inside the mirror if you have the power folding option. The motor that is used to move the glass back and forth is replaceable. The motor that controls the folding option is not. You will have to buy that as the whole assembly. You may be able to find a good deal on eBay, but they are expensive at the dealer. Also try Hollander exchange. You may be able to find a complete used units that already matches your car where you will not have to tear it down to replace it.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was afraid. I'll check on ebay and Hollander.
