Question Weld Repair Rim

I have a 2014 CLA 250 4matic Gas.

I have a cracked rim that is losing air. I drive a lot of Highway miles. I am have the rim welded. Previous threads on this topic are at a minimum 5 years old. Have thoughts on welding a crack changed any?

Most of the opinions I read state that it is safe to a point. Which leaves me unsettled. I need to have it fixed now but I think by the end of July I will replace it.

Any opinions?

Replace it ASAP regardless IMO. Where did it crack? Barrel, spoke, bead..? Make sure they true the wheel first before repair also.

Thanks that was what my gut was telling me based on my knowledge of welds. I just needed to confirm it.

The crack is in the bead area.

Based on what I've read it increases the risk of a blow out.

I'm looking at some cosmetically restored rims on e-bay. I will most probably have it replaced by the end of next week.

Thank you again
