2005 Dodge Sprinter 3500 will not shift

After spending a night up in Oregon it got to around 20 degrees Fahrenheit and I went to start up the up the van and put it in gear and it woildnt shift out of park. I checked the brake fuse and the brake lights are functioning normal.
I just a pen to shift it out of park i have to do this everytime at the moment. I put it into reverse and my reverse lights did not light up the fuse for them is good. I noticed on the dash where it would normally tell me what part of the prnd it in nothing pops up it's blank. I put it into drive and started driving and it stays in first gead I'm doing about 30mph at 3000 rpm and thats about as fast as I can go at the moment. The trouble code is p0705 which is transmission range sensor A circuit (prndl input)
Can someone help me figure out the problem.
