FS: 2008 B200 Turbo, 6 sp. manual

Hi All,

We've decided to sell our lovely 'Ruby Unicorn' B200. I'm going to retire in July, and my wife rides her bike to work most days. With a motorcycle and scooter as well, we're going to be a one-car family. I thought I would mention this here, on the B245 forum, rather than in the For Sale section as this is model is in Canada and not US relevant. If others feel it is not appropriate, I'll certainly remove it.

Anyhow, we've had the car since 2014. Second owners, purchased from a family in Victoria BC. Just under 99,000 kms. It had just under 60K kms when we bought it. As I have had another car, and two wheels, and my wife is a cycle commuter, the car has not been driven constantly on short trips. Service has been done by Dr Stuart Chang at Kartech in Vancouver (good fellow) and our special Victoria at Norwescan. She calls it the unicorn because it is a manual transmission car.

Just had rear brakes done (pads and rotors), and last year Victoria did plugs, oil separator, front struts, oil separator, valve cover gasket. Have all service receipts since aug 2014. Comes with mounted snow tires. Have two keys, original manuals, rear cargo floor mat and factory roof bars. Tires are at approx half milage, Pirelli C7's. As far as I know, everything works well and correctly.

Unusual features are leather interior, manual trans and no sunroof. We love this car, but only need one and my wife does have some back nerve issues that make shifting a problem sometimes.

I'll post this on craigslist as well, but somehow, I hope it will go to someone 'in the family'. Will ask $6,800.00.

A couple of pics here. Thanks very much.

Hi Devours,

Ah, a technical question right off the top! I'll say, yes, the black/ charcoal arctico leather. It is not the otherwise excellent MB tex vinyl.

Glad you like the colour. We do as well. Anything that looks like a cheeky Pinot noir is fine by me. The first pic is in its unwashed state, under the wisteria at Maddox Farm in Saanich. The other pics are post-lather at our house in Vancouver. In the wisteria pic, you can see a faint line across the hood. There is an 'invisible bra' wrap on the front of the car. That and the window tint were done by the first owner.

I would consider it if you were closer.

I'd gladly buy a B200 again, with a manual transmission and non-turbo (preferred).

Hi All,

I've had some interest in the car but no takers. Doing a more patient review of B's for sale, I think I have been optimistic in my price. I have it listed on CL for $5,500.00. There is a groove in one of the front brake discs which squeaks from time to time. Front rotors are 2.45 mm thick and front pads are 8 or 9mm so still lots of life left. There is a noise that I am guessing is from the throw out bearing. But it has not changed over the 5 years we've owned the car, and Neither Norwescan or Kartek are concerned about it.

Still driving it and it is still a fine car.

If you get a US buyer (if that's even possible - not sure of legalities and procedures of importing a Canadian car into the US), and they would like to get a mph display, instead of km/h - let me know: I have a spare faceplate, it's just a piece of flexible plastic, that clips onto the instrument cluster, so can't be easier to replace.

It's the same type, i.e. petrol with 7,000 rpm dial. I bought an complete B200T instrument cluster, just to get the needles for an upgrade so was left with a few unwanted bits. Been trying to flog 'em ever since LOL

Seeing as a bit of flogging is taking place here..........

I have these original aluminum door pieces for a "very low cost sale" also..as I installed the original wood that I bought,

..........and these are now in perfect condition...but have to go.

No biggie, but just for the record - don't measure to the vent. Rotors are measured wear face to wear face, across the center venting vanes.

Hello All,

I'm happy to report that the Ruby Unicorn has gone to a new home. A local buyer, and very good with the manual transmission.

Cheers all.
