Anyone swap their OEM antenna for a shark fin style one?

Want something that is more modern on the roof since the stock one is quite long. Does anyone know if the wire goes directly from the antenna to the radio or is there a connector near the base that would make it super easy for installation?

There should be a connector at or near the base, but I've never changed mine so others will have to chip in.

Are you planning to stay with the OEM (long antenna)?...you did say swap.....

I want something like the picture so a complete swap.

Dealership was no help in saying there are 13 variants of the C-Klasse antenna and they have no idea which one to use.

I once want to swap mine to this shark fin antenna. The company says the base on the B is too big for the fin and won't fit.

Thanks SO much! So it is super easy to swap unlike what the stealership told me. Gonna switch to the one all across town.

The VG is nice but only version 2 fits which is not nice at all. Almost looks like a oval.

Keep us posted please as I would also like to do this. I would think the hardest part would be to find an antenna with compatible connectors or to modify the wiring.

Bumping this thread to check if anyone managed to get a shark fin antenna to fit over the OEM antenna base.
