MB S400 turbo actuator

Hello, there is someone who has changed turbo actuator for 4.0 diesel engine? How did you do that? Mine isn't working when engine is hot so i think to replace it. Is there any ideas about that?

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum

Please Complete location and exact Model and Year please.

I think you might struggle on this one, few folks on here have ever seen a 400 CDI V8, but .............

I've driven one many moons ago, awesome Car.

It could be the Turbo Actuator or Solenoid, Vac Pipe etc etc, IIRC these don't have the Hella Electric Actuator ??

You really need a decent Diagnostic on SDS, as it could be something else ..............

I've said it a million times, guessing and chucking parts at any Car is a sure way to frustration and un necessary expense on parts and time you don't need, more so with these W220 beasties

What makes you think it's Turbo related ??

HTH,

While cars engine is cold it goes nice, turbo is working, but when it reaches 90 degree or for example drive 50 km it stops working. On computer diagnostic it shows that right turbo actuator is failed permanently. So while engine is cold it won't show that massage on diagnostic but when hot it shows. I have 2001 year S400

Both mafs and so on are working, there is only one error about engine and that is about turbo actuator

Hi,

OK, sounds fairly conclusive, either change the Actuator or get a rebuild kit.

I would imagine it is a beast of a job, but that said I've never done one, so my advice would be buy a new genuine Hella Actuator, not some cheapo

I did one a while ago on a 4 cyl CDI and that was beast enough
