STAR lowering help

What’s up guys I’m in need of some help. I have lowered 3 vehicles in the past with star with out issues( 06 cls x2 and e500 211). I attempted to adjust my ride height on my 220 yesterday with no success. Here are the detail. I have always used this method. Functions performed by more than one module>Chassis>level adjustment > suspension > initial start up > initial start up with manual adjustments> Lower with voltages with in parameters> set inclination angles and done.

this Is the first 220 I ever do. After selecting Functions control by more than one control module there is no option for chassis or suspension. So I decided to go to the air Matic module hit initial start up set the height and angles and hit done. As soon as I back out the car raises back up.

What is going on here?? Any ideas? What am I doing wrong. Air Matic is fully functional no errors or leaks. Thanks in advance

W220 (ABC for sure) height adjustments never seem to work that well in STAR. I ended up buying adjustable length links for the height sensors.

2003 S55
K&Ns, 80mm TB, NPI headers, X-pipe / 3in pipes, Kleemann Cams & 168mm Pulley, ECU & TCU tune. 550cc injectors, Meziere WP136S SC pump. UPD SC pulley & SC belt wrap, Alum idler pulley set. Fuel rail loop, LFR7AIX plugs, NPI heat exchanger, -10C mod, shift paddles, TeleAid removed.
Lowering links (1.5" front, 1" rear), 18x9.5+35 offset rims, clear side markers, KG Key retrofit, H/W Valentine1, BT phone, BT AUX, laser jam, upgraded fans in seat backs, inline ABC mag filter.

Careful, if you use the star to adjust height, you could wipe your abc level settings which is not a fun issue to deal with (ask me how I know).

With best regards

Al

Hi,

Yes, this procedure works with Airmatic, but with ABC there are also "Plunger Travel Sensors" inside the Shocks, (that little plug on the top of each strut), so ABC knows where the Strut is sitting in relation to the Height Sensor readings, and so Tweaked "Romess" Angles are therefore un acceptable to an ABC Module, and then it locks you out until you get it right with the right equipment ..........................

With Airmatic however IMHO it is the correct way to lower them (a little).

I do not advocate lowering ABC at all, and Airmatic only to get it sitting nice, not slammed like Homey's Low Rider

HTH,
