Building an S600 N/A Need some Information

Starting a S600 Build, one of my cars I was able to score from the Auction Via a Trade in.

2002 with 153,000 miles.

Can anyone tell me if the Brakes are AMG spec’d Or Brembo, I’m looking to start around each wheel with suspension, and Brakes.

Next will be the Head unit. I have the 2003 upgrade with re-pined harness. How can I add MP3

Also: This will be a Paddle Shifting car. Any info on how to add them would be great.

And info or part numbers you can provide would most helpful.

1. S600 brakes are not amg or brembo , they are regular s class brakes.
If you want to upgrade your car , buy s55 brake rotors and calipers

2. Forget the 2003 stereo unit it’s way behind the times . Read the android thread to put in a factory appearing new android 8.0 unit that can use all the steering wheel controls plus adds Bluetooth , and apps like Torque with built in obd2 scanner and gauges on screen , dvd and backup camera , etc

Brembo happens to be one of the OEM's for S600 disc rotors; my 600 has Brembos. Zimmermann is another. Personally, I find the stock brakes to be very good, indeed. Had to do a panic stop once because someone pulled right out in front of me. Car stopped on a dime.

Looks like you'll be spending less money, though, if you go to MBOemParts. Just checked, and here's their price list for 2002 S600 brake discs and pads.

I used Genuine Mercedes rotors on my S600. They were cheaper than any other quality supplier.

Very happy with the brakes on that car.

I found that recently on a 2010 E Class, (well actually they were £9 odd dearer), but the guy had warped 2 new sets of Mintex in very little time / mileage, so I decided he was having OE this time around, he is much harder on a Car than most !!

No complaints now !!

I was inspecting some parts of my 2000 S430 and the Calipers or Rotors had brembo stamped on them. That’s the only reason I asked.

I’m asking, because this will be a Renntech car when I’m finished.

Wow yeah I like the Android Unit absolutely. I’m not even gonna wait to do this modification. Makes sense all across the board.

Which wheels did/do you have on it. Can you see much of the rotor and calipers?

My father was saying, depending on wheel choice, he would like me to make it look nice and neat in there. I’ve noticed a lot of cars on this level, the brakes and rotors look like jewelry alright. Bright colors, shiny metals, and excellent power.

I dread the day I need to do my front brakes. FCP euro has a Brembo front kit for just over $1000. My car has 76,000 miles and the rotors look pretty decent. Not sure if they are original. What is the longevity of SL 65 rotors? The front rotors are a larger diameter than the wheels on my old Chevelle! I can see why they are so darned expensive! But nearly $500 each? Wow!
