Pre-safe unavailable/Airmatic visit workshop

Hi All

I have put a new front air shock on my 2005 S500 front left/drivers side. The car looks to be approx the right height but i'm getting two warning signs: -

Pre-safe Unavailable
Airmatic visit workshop.

I tried disconnecting the battery for approx 30 seconds and reconnected it but i still get the warnings.

any idea what i screwed up while installing the shock?

Thanks

I put the car back on axle stands, disconnected the battery, took off the front wheel and disconnected the the 2 electrical sockets one from the new shock and another elec connector that clips to the new shock elec connector. The pins in the connectors all looked good, not bent, so i put it back together again and wiggled the thing at the top of the a arm, it's an electrical thing that I assume senses the height or angle of the a arm.

put the wheel back on, got the car off the axle stands and took it for a run.

no warning lights. I guess the electric connectors weren't attached all the way?

Hopefully it's all fixed.

Two things...

First, stop disconnecting that battery. Not good practice.

Second, run a quick test using SDS. You will probably have a lot of codes stored. Erase them and take it for a short drive then run the test again. Lots of good info to be gained. The ultimate goal is no "F","f" or "i"'s. Wish mine was that way. I still have some air line leaks to repair in the seats and door locks.

Best tool you can have owning a Benz.

A poor connection on the two connectors in the single jack is a very common problem, so there is a very good chance that you fixed it...
