Hi,

I'd give up on the COMAND's they are all past their sell by Date now, I spent a bucket load getting my COMAND to work, then a few months later I ripped it all out and fitted an Android.

You have what we once termed as "Back to the Past" Date ................. I had "Back to the Future" Date, mine kept reverting to 2082 year or something silly. After hours on SDS and various ways of setting all Menu's myself and some experts from here and Benzworlds Audio & Telematics Forum concluded that there was a corrupted Firmware, which I tried updating and then gave up !!

You see it is only annoying you because you keep looking at it, the COMAND doesn't display the date ordinarily unless you specifically look in it's settings which you wouldn't normally do ................

I bet this is a more common problem than we actually hear about

When installing an Android the only function you lose is any COMAND info that displays in the Dash Cluster, (Radio, Track Number and Navi Arrows) which is no big deal as the Android has a 7" Screen and displays such info much better.

You do have to have SDS to recode various Modules, Dash Cluster being one of them, then you can set the Dash Clock as a stand alone Clock, also you end up when navigating the Dash Menus which comes up as Audio, the redundant Navi and Phone Menus will be gone from Dash (if you've coded it right), and when in "Audio" on Dash then Track / Station > and < work, Volume + and - work all times, and Call Answer and Hang Up also works at all times

Only other thing, do not go buying the "Fibre Optic Converter" that "works" with the Bose, yeah it works, but it sounds rubbish It also only works on Cars with MOST Fibre Optics, and not D2B which is what your Car has ............ As @cowboyt pointed out, if you buy the 6m LM Benz Cable, hard wiring the Head Unit's Amp direct to all (not just 4), of the MB Speakers it sounds fine

That is what we did.

HTH,

Hi Dave. Thanks so much for the feedback. I appreciate you and Cowboy jumping in to share your experience and wisdom. You absolutely nailed it, the date doesnít appear normally when going through the various functions. Itís my OCD tendencies that force me to check continually to see if the date reset each time I start my car. At least my clock is correct.

For the time being Iíll just have to live with it and look in to the Android units that are available.

Thanks again for the help.
