Yeah, it is kind of a shame, but it'll make a good parts car for your W220's ongoing upkeep. Looks like the same color as your restoration car, too.

Yes .............. 347 Chalcedon Blau

I did wonder about chucking the V6 outta the R170 in it, prepping it and selling it for 3 grand, but it would take a load of workshop hours, materials etc, and I wouldn't have the full set of Modules, Air Struts, Diff, Shafts, etc etc etc etc as spares

I reckon I'll make more money by strapping the V6 on a pallet, V6 Diff, V6 Auto Trans, and any W220 parts I don't keep chuck it all on EBay

It's heeeeeeeeaaaaaaaar

10 hours, 600 miles, 28.2 mpg ................... amazing !!

Nath messed up, it is his weekend to have the children, so I had to drop them both at Inverness Airport at 5am, which meant leaving here at 3:30am, back indoors at 6:15, so I only just got up lol .........................

Nice to see 'em both even if it was only for a few hours

I'll post some pics up soon when I get it on the lift, just took it out for a run, Engine and Trans great, it has new Front Calipers (MB) and new Exhaust (MB), and recent (MB) Battery, looks to have been well cared for over the years, haven't found anything that doesn't work yet, definitely an issue with that Right Rear Suspension tho

No fault messages appeared in 600 miles

Hi,

Paint lol ?????????????????????

I'm breaking it up for parts

The 5.0 V8 Engine and Trans is going in my R170 SLK, and there is a ton of good spares that I can use to finish off my W220, I'll keep all the Modules, locks, PSE, Cluster, switches etc in a box for spares, and the rest will get EBayed

In the last 2 years it has had a full brand new MB Exhaust and CAT's, MB Battery and Front Discs / Calipers.

2 Fully Working Keys, MB OE Rear TV Screen, with remote control all working. COMAND works perfectly. Locks and Soft Close Works perfectly.

The only things I can fault it on now I've driven it about 60 miles yesterday and put it on the lift is 2 broken exhaust rubber hangers, that is the rattle / knock noise, rear brake judder, likely Discs, and the right rear Airmatic sits about 1" lower than the rest, I can hear a hissing when I switch it off up near the Compressor, may just be a leaky pipe at the Valve Block.
The base around drivers seat it broken. That's it, absolutely everything else is good and works.

I simply cannot find anything that doesn't work perfectly

It was bought primarily for the Complete Engine and Trans, and the Auto shifts perfectly, engine is smooth and powerful, pulls like a train, no misfires and quiet as a church mouse, all in all an excellent purchase for the pennies I paid for it

Chow for now,

Sounds like a really good score there, Dave. Like I said, it's a shame that *that particular* example is being broken up for parts, but you've got a heckuva parts car there, man.

Hi Guys,

I haven't forgot to do the W220 parts car update, just 2 reasons ...............

1) Very Very busy in the workshop right now.

2) Plan is to do a U Tube Video walk round / under / engine running, and therein lies the proberlermo right now ...............

Being a dinosaur a couple of years ago I bought an Android phone, but still daily use my old Samsung because it's easier .................

Recently I've started getting to grips with the Android Phone and done a couple small videos, but I need to get an SD Card for it as it will currently only do about 30 seconds of Video, so once things calm down a bit I will go buy an SD TF Card thingy and do the Video, perhaps this weekend

I replaced the 2 Rubber Exhaust hangers and re-aligned it, no more clunky rattle, and despite the rear suspension creak which is almost in audible inside the car, I am using it as a daily driver right now, nothing nasty has surfaced since I got all intimate with it on Sunday

It doesn't have a Suspension Air Leak, it was one of my shop Airline Wall Fittings that sits on the wall by where the right front of the Car was

It actually sits slightly low both side at the rear, looks to be a calibration issue but I'll not be bothered with that. The only issues revealed on SDS was a billion low voltage codes, which is presumably why MB fitted a new Battery last year

Cheers Dave
