I don't see how that's possible unless that person was talking about removing the front bumper, unscrewing the front impact strip (sp? I don't know what it's called) then sliding it forward.

Granted, removing the bumper on a W220 is fairly easy, the only fiddly stuff is unplugging the light bulbs...but I don't see how you can push the radiator away from the engine. Those radiator hoses are tight sometimes.

Yup. That was what i was told.

Just remove the bumper, unscrew 2 long and 2 short bolts, switch them in place and the complete front is to slide out on the longer bolts. All connections are dimensioned to give that extra space.

Supposed to be a standard MB design?...

Parts shopping

Hi Orre,

About getting the parts - you can also try getting them from MB. I live in Belgium but I often order online from Germany (https://www.online-teile.com/mercedes-ersatzteile/) and (OEMparts24.de) or Amazon.de/eBay. Since Norway is farther, the shipping may seem more for smaller parts though.

@prs600 Thanks mate!
Have to admit I have avoided searching German sites cause of language...
But you are right. What could go wrong having the part nr.

(Checked online-teile.com has a minimum shipping cost of €48.50!... oemparts24.de got no MB parts what I understand?)

OEM Parts

My bad, looks like OEMparts stopped selling Benz parts. Till about 3 months ago I could see them stocking parts, I bought MB WinterFit windscreen washer fluid from them.
Yikes, 48.5 EUR shipping is shocking!!
For me it comes to around 12.5 EUR, but then Norway is a bit further up, and also not in the EU.
Amazon.de is also offered in English (but not all item descriptions have been translated) and delivery costs are not that high (about 5 EUR for you I guess: https://www.amazon.de/gp/help/custom...3E4F6854485830)

But the downside is that on Amazon you can only find consumables like parking sensors, OEM wipers, plastic parts, etc. For 'serious' parts like hoses etc. you have to look elsewhere. I have good experience on ebay.de, but one has to be careful of not falling for fake parts.

Well I'm stuck in my part nr. chase again...

Alarm Siren.
If I understand it correct, it's behind front left wheel house plastic, and is malfunction because of internal battery failure.

But I can't find it in the EPC?
The closest I got is -Group 82 Electrical System - 339 Distress Alarm System - (page 26) nr. 170. But it says "Item no. not valid for this model des."?
I don't know if it is correct group, or if this got something to do with that I don't have any "Panic Button" on my keys?...

In this forum, I find @mjd writing about successfully installing PN 2198203226 on his S430. Even though @Frank_S500 say its not valid for that car...
Maybe you EPC guys would be so kind to get me some input in this matter?

The siren is part of the 530 Anti Theft subgroup and you are right, it appears to be in the left front wheel well. Part number 170 is actually a Transmitter for the Radio Remote Control Activation which is not available on your newer car.

Hope this helps,

Bob
