Hi Skylaw, sorry for bother you again. So I installed all the equipments that I need. I have two phones, one is Motorola V60S with Verizon logo as what the one in MY03 bulletin shown, another one is V60S with Motorola logo and Mercedes logo on it. I plugged in the one with Verizon logo it can be charged but will keep shutting the power off, but if I just take it out then it works properly. So I bought another one which is the one with Mercedes logo on it. The differences between Verizon version and Mercedes version is one has SIM card slot, Mercedes brand phone doesn't has it. I have a question about it, how to make a call without SIM card if Mercedes brand phone doesn't has SIM card slot? It there a way to activate the V60S Mercedes brand phone? I'm in Canada, not sure what service provider I should ask for the services.

As I recall (it has been a few years since I worked with the systems), the older Mercedes plug-in handsfree systems required Mercedes branded telephones. They were internally coded to perform a "handshake" with the car's equipment. If the phone could not perform this handshake, the system simply shut down. Your description seems to verify this, and it is what I recall from my own experience with the older systems as recorded in post 2 of the How-To Guide on cell phones - https://www.benzworld.org/forums/aud...ades-plug.html.

You will have to check with your service provider to determine if they will activate any particular phone on their system, and other than that, I have no way of knowing what a Canadian (or US) company would accept. There may be E911 compliance issues, and the phone would have to cover the digital frequencies used by the provider (former cellular analog frequencies were reassigned to Wi-Fi use years ago in both Canada and the US). As to the hows and whys of it, I don't know beyond what was provided at post 2 in the How-To Guide.

As to the SIM card question, the Mercedes branded phones worked just fine with the Mercedes equipment, as long as the service provider could accept the phone on its system.
