Maintenance Rates

Just curious, what are the going rates for an A service and B service. I know different areas will have different rates, but would like to see those differences. I am in the Memphis area and a B service with all the other maintenance suggestions in the owners manual at 52000 miles was quoted to me at over $750.00 at MB of Memphis.

The dealer controls his prices. My last "A" service was about $250. I anticipate my upcoming "B" service will be about $350 (though I am telling them not to replace wiper blades; my service is due to time elapsed, not mileage, and I already have a spare set). It could be more because it's time to change my brake fluid, and the check of my rotors and brake pads could show a need for replacement.

However, there is additional service and inspection at certain mileages and time intervals, regardless of whether it is "A" or "B" service. Your maintenance book tells you what these are. The higher cost your dealer quoted you may be due to these, rather than just the designation of the service as "A" or "B."

If you don't have your maintenance book, one can be downloaded from the MBUSA site.

In germany, I just paid for my B service. With full brake fluid chaning and me bringing my own oil (I pay 5$ per quart and the dealer in germany charges 20 euro which is about 35$) it cost me 275 euro. If the euro rate was equal to the dollar, I would say I got a bargain. I did not have the blades replaced because I did that 6months ago. Cost me 80 euro for new MB wiper blades (
