2010 E350 Oil leak at rear of cam

I noticed a slow oil leak on my E350 a few months back. I don't drive it just a whole lot so I ignored it, then forgot about it. I took it to DC and back in July, then noticed that the oil leak has sped up a fair bit. I parked it and didn't drive it for a couple of weeks. Got off early today so I started poking around to see if I could find the problem. Looks like some sort of sensor or some such on the back of the head behind the cam on the left side of the car is where the leak is at. I saw some videos where in the W211 there was a cap back there you just popped off and replaced, but mine seems to have this box with a hose coming off of it back there instead of a cap.

I'm pointing at the thing in question here:

You can see it's a bit wet/sticky looking around the general area, and there's actually a drop of oil about to fall if you look in the mirror.

I'm guessing there's a gasket or seal or some such that needs replacing. Anyone offer any advice on what parts to buy and how exactly to get to that thing to take it loose?

Seems like the classic 'plastic plugs at the rear of the M272/M273 head' issue. You might check one of the forum vendors or the dealer (surprisingly inexpensive) but here's the kit and a rear view of the engine.

Parts list;

0009985590 30mm cap x 2
0009985690 65mm cap x 1
2720100631 breather x1

So do I have to take off that part with the hose attached to it to get to the cap? The right side with the oil centrifuge deal isn't leaking, but on the left instead of just having a cap mine has some sort of thing bolted on there with a hose coming off the top.

I found a part number on the thing. A272 230 05 65. Did some googling and it says its a vacuum pump for the brake system? I mean I get if it was a diesel it'd need a vacuum pump but why the heck does a gas engine car need a vacuum pump?

Well that's really odd, not sure why you have a vacuum pump there but I do see it in the EPC. My wife's 2010 E350 does not have one. The P/N for its o-ring is 0219973645, see illustration below. I found it via generic search of 212056 chassis in the EPC.

You could just try this crankcase breather repair kit, the M272 is well known to leak oil here and there.
