The rest are not that bad, although Downshifts that pass down through 4 often have a jerk-hesitation-then acceleration. When driving very gently, all gear shifts are butter smooth. Downshifting while accelerating is a bad.
The 5-4 downshift is exactly the issue I am having. Same as you're describing.

Good news 🙂 they collected more data while doing manual adaptations and found high pressure in the B2 solenoid. They recommended replacement of the solenoid. Decided to get the work done for a total of $1,300 CAD at Mercedes. After the repair the 5-4 downshift is now butter smooth. They said that the original transmission fluid had no sign of irregular transmission wear so that's a good sign. Here's to hoping no more problems!

In case this issue comes up again, how difficult is a DIY on solenoid replacement? I've done a transmission fluid change on my w210 before no problem. The w212 scared me away because of the required method of pumping the fluid in from the bottom and measuring the level by temperature.

Btw they put me in a 2019 C300 loaner during this process. The exterior looks fantastic and was a lot of fun to drive but the 2014 E still feels much more solid and luxurious.

Keep in mind that M-B recommends that transmission service (fluid and filter) be done every 40,000 miles, and to avoid future problems, check your maintenance booklet for all service intervals.

Hope you enjoy the car. I really enjoy mine!

Thanks, they did my fluid with the solenoid replacement so I'm good for a while now. The interval depends on the vehicle. The 2014 E350 is every 70,000 miles.

When I check the maintenance booklet for my 2014 E350, it says, "Automatic Transmission - Oil and Filter change" at (every) 40,000 miles.

If interested, check this link on 40,000 miles (page 25), third item from the bottom.

Interesting. Yes, looks like a different service interval between the 2010 and 2014 https://www.mercedesbenzraleigh.com/...ce_Booklet.pdf
My dealer confirmed 120,000 km.
