Dealer Problems with CPO
I'm frustrated! I purchased a 2009 e63 two years ago with a Benz certified preowned warranty plus a Benz extended warranty. Net, three years of coverage by Benz so I was feeling pretty good.
I took time to read through the warranty paperwork as to what it covered and what it did not cover. Still, was feeling good. Fast forward to the last 12 months or so, my car needs a repair (mostly engine items) and the dealer is saying things like "I don't think that that part is covered under the warranty" or "I need to try to talk to Benz to see how we can get this covered for you".
It should be as simple as: If the part needed for replacement or repair is under the list of covered items, then dealer should fix the item for no charge and send me on my way.
However, I feel that they are saying the issue is a non-covered part instead so they can get money out of the deal. The really frustrating part is that I do not know much about engine parts to challenge their version of what part is needing to be replaced. In some cases, the car is inoperable or close to inoperable to due the repair needed so taking it from Benz dealership to Benz dealership is not practical.
Net, I'm learning that although they will gladly sell you warranty coverage on an originally $90k car (now used), the game is that they try to find ways to dance around it and not pay.
Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts on how to remedy? Thanks.
Side note: e63, 92,000 miles, no mods needed
