Front End Clunking

Clunking in front end when I go over bumps.

Shocks are functioning properly - is it possible they still need to be replaced?

Any thoughts?

Thank you

Front end of my W211 needed work at about 90K miles.

I think because it is a heavy car the front steering/suspension wears faster.

Controls, ball joints, sway bar links, ect. If your over 90k miles your entire front suspension probably needs replacement.

Just replaced my whole front end. I was hearing a clunking especially when I went over washboard bumps such as when you come to a stop at a stop light. The steering was vague as well. Replaced lower control arm bushings (they are pressed in), lower ball joints, upper control arms, tie rod ends. the car feels like new now. I did not need sway bar links and I have 204k on the car. Have someone take a look especially lower control arm bushings.

Jeff.
