03-06 update to 07-08 sport bumpers and rockers

So it is time to shop for a first car for my son. He would like a V-8 and of course I would like 4matic for the winter months. We are going to look at an e500 4matic. However, he asked if we we could upgrade the front and rear bumper covers, and rockers/side skirts. Now I am well aware that it may not make financial sense to make these changes, that being said it would be a father and son activity/project.

So, I would like to know if the newer 07-09 sport front, rear bumper covers, and rocker covers/side skirts will fit on the 03-06 w211?

If the body kit is off a w211 it will fit.

Youíll have to colour match the bumpers and side skirts these may not even match correctly colour wise and then youíll have to respray. Just sounds like a waste of time if you ask me.

Why not just buy the car you like?

Well, from my research apparently the e550ís have timing chain issues. That is the reason I was looking at e500 4matics. My son would like the V-8. Engine, and I want him to have the 4matic for the winter months. I realize to some it may seem like a waste of time, but my son and I have always talked about doing a father son project on his first car. So I can see your point about just buying what he likes, but part of the point of this was spending time together working on the car.

If we canít find a god e500 4matic, we most likely would go the 07-09 e350 4matic. However my son does have his heart set on a V-8.

As far as color matching, I have some acquaintances that would handle any paintwork, they owe me.

Most 08s and all 09s had the soft balance shaft sprocket resolved in production for the M272 V6 and the soft idler for the M273 V8.
