Outstanding news! Just confirmed over the phone that mine is covered through July 2031.

It would be nice if someone could confirm exactly which codes would qualify for warranty coverage. I assume at least the following but don't know for sure....I'm trying to find out.

C249F Operating time of a7/3 (hydraulic unit) is exceeded
C2131 Pressure Reservoir faulty
C235C or C235A Service threshold reached

06 E320 CDI "Benson", Platinum Blue, 175k mi
06 E320 CDI "Rutherford", Black, 145k mi
91 300D "Otis", Smoke Silver, 129k mi
98 E300 "Murray", Silver, 129k mi, Stage 2 Rocketchip chip tuned, under son's care

Eleven other MB's owned and sold
2002 Honda Odyssey 255k mi (want to name it "Homer," wife won't let me)
1961 Very Tolerant Wife

I also just called the service adviser who handled our SBC repair ($1840 in 2016). He said we were eligible for a refund and asked for us to send in the receipts.

Thankfully I keep all car related paperwork. Looking forward to that refund!

Unfortunately when our fuel pump went out I replaced it myself with parts from Pelican Part. Because they weren't OEM Mercedes parts MB wouldn't help us with that repair, which left a bad taste in my mouth. This helps a little.

The SBC was the elephant in the china room, what a relief knowing this is no longer the case. MB certainly added more value to the brand by making this very generous extended warranty.

So.. the story continues. I have had the White SBC Brake warning lit on my 2005 E-500 , now with over 140K mi , for over a year due to exceeding the mysterious counter. I only saw a RED 5% of Brake Power warning once ( when it was 0 degrees) last winter , that went away upon restart. I attributed that to a momentary low voltage reading . ( see owners manual about RED light coming on with no battery in car).
This summer I saw the RED 5% Brake warning again which was worrisome. So, I replaced BOTH batteries to be sure that the low voltage problem was fixed.
Last week the RED warning light came on 3 times. It cleared upon restart. I was getting ready to try and trade this beast in for a newer Cadillac CTS wagon( I am not willing to sell it to another person in current state of disrepair, nor do I want to spend $3-$4k for a new SBC system on a car worth maybe $6K. .

Today the MB extended warranty letter arrived with the SBC/ EBS warranty coverage offered for the life of the car ( for any registered owner) arrived.
I am SOOO Happy to see a solution to this problem, before I got killed driving on the Interstate with no brakes.
I will be making an appointment , at my local MB dealer, to get a new SBC system installed next week !!!

Talk about perfect timing!

In case you haven't seen it, there is also a warranty extension on the fuel pumps. Unfortunately this didn't help us as I replaced it myself with non-MB parts. But if you ever have fuel pump issues, call your dealer!

When did MB decided to extend the warranty? I have not gotten the letter yet.

anyway, I took it to dealer 2 days after hearing the news from my mechanic and got it replaced under extended warranty program.

This is great for us to get such coverage as I was driving with BRAKE warning sign deciding when to shell out $$$.
I should log on to this website more often. Thank you.

OK I have gotten the C2131 code for the accumulator. I also have the fuel tank odor/leak issue. I made an appointment for Friday at MB of Plano. I've researched a bit and it seems there are mixed results getting MB to replace the accumulator under this warranty. I would think common sense would dictate that they just do the SBC now but I know better than to assume this will happen. Has anyone had any experience w/ the accumulator code and this new warranty extension?
