Trunk button center console not working

I have not checked it out yet but is the trunk button separate from the window controls? My trunk button stopped working and trying to find one is slim pickings. I've checked everywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

I assume your key still opens the trunk, yes?

Did you check the fuse box under the back seat?

No. It is part of the assembly together with the mirror and window switches. You can buy the assembly from Ebay or get one from a Junk Yard (if you know the problem is the trunk switch itself.).

I have checked the fuse and it's good. I'm going to have to get it from a junk yard. I looked on Ebay and saw none that looked good. Meaning either the mirror control was bad or something was missing from them. There was one with an esp button but also had the rear window shade button, and there was another that instead of an esp had something called an asr.

I don't know what you are looking at but the the assembly looks like this.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/98-02-Merce...MAAOSwqDha1gNA

The ESP/ASR and other buttons are not part of the window/trunk/mirror assembly.

I think the trunk button is a vacuum operated system if I'm not mistaken. So, I'm not sure if it's the switch itself that you have verified is bad or if the vacuum lines, somewhere, may be leaking.

My rear passenger door actuator was leaking air so often times there would be a very long delay in opening the trunk due to the leak (I think)... but I'm not sure if the leak in one of the door actuators could cause a problem with opening the trunk, I was just making the association, although I'm not certain if that's correct or not.

If the remote (fob) trunk button opens the trunk then it is not a vacuum issue. I assume that the OP is talking about a physically damaged trunk button which is not really uncommon considering the age of the car. It is very hard to replace the button itself, let alone its unavailability as a separate component.

Delay is intentional from the remote trunk button operation. I am not sure about the delay about the center console button. It is possible to have a leaky actuator at the trunk side, which is also common for the doors. But an isolated leaky actuator at a door should not affect the trunk operation.
