Are you saying the key will not turn in the ignition?

or that the key turns, but the starter does not work?

Why is your battery hot?

How many volts/amps on your battery? Take the battery to parts store and have them test it. Batteries wear out, good one day, bad the next. (actually they degrade over time until they no longer work) Clean your battery terminals and make sure the connection is tight.

There is no "overide" you must turn the key in the ignition to start the car.

When I said the battery is hot I meant it was up to par, tested it with a load tester. Key will not turn at all worked fine yesterday

Yes, BUT that battery only controls the lock/unlock function in the key. Not the key function that makes the connection to the car.

What does the little info screen say when you insert the key into the dash?

More than likely the key is bad. It goes bad if the key is dropped few times. Usually a broken coil inside.

No idea which screen you are talking about. The one on the dash? Maybe you should post a picture of it. If the doors unlock, and parking lights blink when you lock, it explains that the remote part is working. But this is separate from the ignition part of the key.

If you do not have a spare key, you should get one from the dealer, and then get the key you have now repaired as the spare key. There is a gentleman who frequents this forum who can repair your key at a reasonable cost, if repairable.
