Exclamation What Do These Warning -Error Messages on Dash Mean

Now the latest problem with my 2003 E320 Wagon:
Please look at the pics. I am assuming this means the power brakes are failing?
It does this intermittently then stopes sometimes for weeks at a time.
Am I at risk for loosing brakes and not being able to stop the car?

Just turn the car off and then turn it back on. This happened to my E-class sometimes and every time it seemed to just be the computers having an off moment. I think you would probably feel if the ABS or the Brake Assist was actually messed up. Just keep in mind that these are some old computers and wiring and might have the occasional hiccup.

Thats exactly what I have been doing. every time this happens I turn it off and on then it resets to normal. Or I hit the reset button on the dash. Last time those lights came on what about 300 miles ago. I am just afraid I will loose the ability to stop the car on the highway and kill myself

When the message appears again, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right then all the way to the left for couple times and see if it disappears.

You have 3 systems showing malfunction.
Very often that happens with car low voltage, so start with checking it.
If the voltage is right, that would lead toward bad speed sensor.
At this point SD scanning would be very recommended.
Calibrating turning sensors is needed for ESP, but has nothing to do with BAS and ABS.

I had the same sporadic problem. It was usually happening on a cold start in the morning. A voltage check on my battery showed 12.68 volts which is good, but a load test showed only 262 cold cranking amps out of 900!

I replaced the battery and the problem hasn't reappeared.
Another common cause is a bad brake light switch.

You can also have the codes read and take the guess work out of problem

Your problem is with the abs sensors.

It is very likely that one of the ones on the rear axle, either side, is faulty. Usually caused by a rusty abs ring...which is about to fail completely and fall off. The good news is you can get the rings for a few dollars and have someone put it on for you.

Try driving at about 70 with cruise control...it will likely cancel out quite soon after turning it on.

CC will NOT activate with ESP/BAS/ABS lights on.
