Sunroof opens a bit at a time?

1999 E320 wagon. why does my sun roof open in small increments. Push the button, opens 5-6 inches, stops, push button again, opens another 5-6 inches, stops and so on. Would like it to open as far as I want with one push of the button until I stop pressing.

I bet the answer is quite simple. Just need to know what that answer is.

Thumbs up W210 Sunroof.

What you need to do is have it reset. Close the sunroof fully. Then push the button up to where the sunroof pops and hold it in this position for 5 seconds or so. Then after try to put the sunroof back. This should work....
Keep us posted.

Synchronized is the term, not reset. But otherwise correct. Check your manual.

There are also a few plastic parts in the mechanism that get brittle with age. I looked at mine earlier this year closely and saw that the two sides looked a little different. Turns out one of the plastic guides had broken. Easy fix and cheap.

Synch the sunroof. Procedure is in the owners manual.
